The Herbert Hotel – A Heavy-hitter among Budget San Francisco Hotels
Location
The Herbert Hotel is very well situated amongst the San Francisco hotels. It is in Union Square and the location places guests at the hotel in the vicinity of many shopping places, bars, and restaurants. The hotel does not offer breakfast but nobody would fault it since there are excellent restaurants very close to the hotel. It takes about half an hour to walk to fisherman’s wharf, one of the most popular tourist attractions in the area. The cable car line is very close to the hotel as well as the route 30 bus, which can take a person directly to fisherman’s wharf.
The rooms of the hotel are clean and provide just basic amenities for a stay in the hotel. At the price they charge per night it is justified. The room has a bed, side table and a chair. It also has a bathroom that is not very large and the room is also small. It does not have a fridge but one can be brought to the room on request.
The hotel is located in the middle of down town San Francisco. As a result the rooms that face the street could get slightly noisy at night for people who don’t have a deep sleep. The walls of the room however are thick enough to block noises from other rooms. There is free internet offered in the rooms which not very many hotels in the same class have.
Interesting points to note
• San Francisco hotels of this class usually don’t have a good balance between the level of service quality and the available amenities. The Herbert Hotel has struck that balance and this helps it to give the impression that it should be in a different class altogether.
• The hotel is located at the heart of the city. A person can therefore get to any point in the city within a matter of minutes. The night life is also great since it is located close to all the best night clubs.
• A room costs about $113 which is very affordable. People who are on a budget should definitely have this hotel on their accommodation plans.
• The friendly staffs make this hotel more enjoyable to stay in even if it has a few shortcomings.
The Herbert Hotel is generally a great place to spend the nights after a busy day in San Francisco. It offers all the amenities that a person needs in good condition and does not bother with luxurious items. For its price point, however, it definitely has great value.
