The Central Bank of Ecuador, mindful of the country’s heritage and ensuring its identity, has looked jealously this site, bought years ago the Society of Jesus.
Hard work, if you consider that Tomebamba was destroyed before the Spanish arrived in the time of the fratricidal war between Atahualpa and Huascar, and then the conquerors wore padded beautiful stones of the temples and buildings for their churches and housing, as seen in the old cathedral and the church of San Blas, for example.
