MINTUR STRENGTHEN THE TOURISM DEVELOPMENT IN THE AMAZON REGION

Quito .- The Ministry of Tourism will strengthen the development of tourism in the Amazon region, allowing a coordinated operation between public, private and community, based on a decentralized and efficient management.
This was announced by the Minister of Tourism, Freddy Ehlers Zurita, who received the representatives of local governments and the private tourism sector of the Amazonian provinces who came to that Ministry to state their case and seek support for tourism ventures in this region.
Ehlers Minister after receiving the proposals made by the authorities in the Amazon, said the Ministry of Tourism will hold a monthly meeting with stakeholders in the area to monitor closely the progress of management. Similarly, shared information on the decentralization process in the country, currently 76 municipalities are part of the skills in tourism.
He also reported on the grand project of the new year, the TV show “Love Life”, which will show the various attractions of the country to meet them and promote them, this certainly is a boost to local tourism development. Also reiterated that “the fate of Ecuador is tourism,” with which encouraged those present to discuss the important contribution of this activity in the national economy.
Assemblyman Vethowen Girl, participant of the meeting, said the breakthrough that has experienced the Amazon in areas such as roads and education, the same that are vital complements to the momentum and growth of tourism in a region generous natural and cultural resources.
For his part, Undersecretary of Tourism Management, Narcisa Cardenas, said the joint action between public and private sectors, and coordinated work with autonomous governments in order to generate sustainable local development. The open conversation included issues concerning the structure of public administration in the Amazonian provinces, the same needs to be reinforced to support tourism development initiatives in the area.
This meeting involved the governor of Morona Santiago, Juan Arcos, representatives of the Chamber of Tourism of Pastaza and tourism business sector actors in the region, who, accompanied by Assemblyman Vethowen Girl, open dialogue with the authorities and raised important points MINTUR Since its vision, knowledge and work in the Amazon region believed necessary for the development of tourism.
