Montanita

Montanita is a small colorful rustic village located 4 miles north of Manglaralto, it is known that in Ecuador through the best beach for surfing, very popular among surfers both international and local people. It has a population of around 1,000 inhabitants. Water temperatures ranging from 56-68 degrees. The site celebrates surfing competitions all year round especially in the high season (December to April), when lots of people from Guayaquil and foreigners come to the village.

It is considered the surfing capital of Ecuador, Montanita in the day is quiet town but at night the bars are crowded, especially weekends, when tourists come from nearby cities like Guayaquil, on holidays and in the national championships and international surfing, conducted between February and March. From February to July, the best and high waves (up to 3 m high), hit the shore of this picturesque town full of artistically painted wooden houses, it really is a place where relaxation is as pleasant as the beach. Montanita Beach is located three hours from Guayaquil, 60 km from the town of Santa Elena.
